He's been reported dead at least twice before, now Al Qaida CFO Mustafa Abu is reportedly most sincerely dead after a drone attack in Pakistan, not to be confused with Kwik-E-Mart proprietor Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

Goodbye, Art Linkletter

Republican stalwart, TV pioneer and noted bastard Art Linkletter (seen in upper bubble), who emceed the opening of Disneyland in 1955, has croaked at age 97.

Best known for his "House Party" show and "Kids Say the Darndest Things" show and books, Linkletter (seen above with the Nixons and Walt Disney) was one of the wealthiest men in show business.

He leaves his wife of 74 years, Lois, and two children.

Linkletter was predeceased by three children; Jack, who died at age 70 in 2007; Robert, who died in a 1980 car wreck; and Diane, who jumped out a window in 1969.

Turban Tuesday

Indian Prime Minister Monmohan Singh and his turban, as seen in a speech yesterday, trying to improve relations with Pakistan.

The glorious Eartha Kitt in her feathered turban; Catwoman can wear anything.

And some dude.

Thank you for playing Turban Tuesday!

Goodbye, Dustin Shuler

Los Angeles artist Dustin Shuler has died at age 61 of pancreatic cancer.

Shuler was commissioned in 1989 to create a sculpture for this Berwyn, Illinois shopping plaza. He built this 50-foot "Spindle," known by locals as the "Car Kabob."

After efforts to save the work failed, it was taken down 20 years later so they could build a Walgreens on the spot.

Angie Dickinson Appears in Hollywood

Rat Pack pal Angie Dickinson, 78, looking great in a crummy old hat, made a rare appearance yesterday at the dedication of the Johnny Grant Post Office in Hollywood. In January of 2007, her 40-year-old daughter Nikki (from her marriage to Burt Bacharach) committed suicide. Nikki had Asperger's Syndrome.

Goodbye, Leslie Buck

Auschwitz and Buchenwald survivor Leslie Buck, designer of the "Anthora" coffee cup used by nearly every diner in New York City, has died at age 87 at his home on Long Island.

We are not happy.

Chuck, Taylor

No, not the sneakers, silly. Prince Chuck and Dame Elizabeth Taylor appeared at the presentation of a bust of Richard Burton at a Royal Welsh College gala evening at Buckingham Palace in London on Thursday evening. Elizabeth, 78, looked quite frail, and wept.

Here is a Chuck Taylor crossword sneaker.

Goodbye, Dorothy Height

President Obama delivered a beautiful eulogy for civil rights matriarch Dorothy Height today. Dorothy passed away last week at age 98.

An excerpt from the eulogy:

"It's an unambiguous record of righteous work, worthy of remembrance, worthy of recognition. And yet, one of the ironies is, is that year after year, decade in, decade out, Dr. Height went about her work quietly, without fanfare, without self-promotion. She never cared about who got the credit. She didn't need to see her picture in the papers. She understood that the movement gathered strength from the bottom up, those unheralded men and women who don't always make it into the history books but who steadily insisted on their dignity, on their manhood and womanhood. She wasn't interested in credit. What she cared about was the cause. The cause of justice. The cause of equality. The cause of opportunity. Freedom's cause.

And that willingness to subsume herself, that humility and that grace, is why we honor Dr. Dorothy Height. As it is written in the Gospel of Matthew:
'For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.'
I don't think the author of the Gospel would mind me rephrasing: 'whoever humbles herself will be exalted.'"

Chexy's Saturday Matinee

Now here's some entertainment... Ella Fitzgerald and the great Jimmy Durante.

The late Australian screenwriter Ivan Goff was born on this day in 1910. Here are a couple of great scenes from a screenplay he co-authored, "Man of a Thousand Faces," the Lon Chaney story, starring Jimmy Cagney and Dorothy Malone.

Here's Albuquerque's own Vivian Vance, perhaps the best sidekick a girl ever had, showing off her sensational singing chops with "Lily of the Valley."

Big finish! Here's the delicious Lyda Roberti in 1934's "College Rhythm" with "Take a Number from One to Ten." Love the costumes!

Goodbye, Bill Mullikin

Actor Bill Mullikin (who Variety says just died at age 83, but IMDB says he died in 2005) was one of the "New Faces of 1952" and played over 2,000 performances as Cornelius Hackle in Broadway's "Hello Dolly,"... and internet gossip monger Perez Hilton.

So alike, and yet only one began his career as a media relations assistant for GLAAD.

The exquisite Charlotte Casiraghi, 23, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi (killed in a boating accident in 1990), and granddaughter of American movie star Grace Kelly (killed in a car crash in 1982), as she appeared this weekend at the Monte Carlo Rose Ball.

On her fifth birthday, her paternal grandparents gave her an island off Sardinia, worth approximately $9 million.

Camilla -- Kiss Me

It's the stuff my dreams are made of. Getting air-kissed by HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall -- seen here with son-in-law Harry Lopes at a memorial service for Camilla's ex-husband's second wife, Rosemary Bowles.

Also in attendance, the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, who will be 90 on Wednesday, looking exactly as a dowager duchess should.

Teenage hairdresser dies in explosion after cigarette ignites hair bleach left in her car

A teenage hairdresser was killed after her cigarette ignited fumes from a leaking bottle of hydrogen peroxide on the passenger side footwell. I hate when that happens.

Jenny Mitchell's Mini Cooper was engulfed in flames after the explosion.

Goodbye, Robert Culp

Robert Culp, 79, fell and hit his head yesterday and died. Kind of a crummy way to die, but not uncommon.

In 1981, William Holden fell and hit his head on a nightstand and bled to death while in a vodka stupor. He was 63.

Goodbye, Fess Parker

The man who started the merchandising craze from TV shows by playing Davy Crockett for Disney -- is dead. Fess Parker hung up his coonskin cap today for the last time at age 85.

He was hot.
